About This Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established by Dorothy E. Hoffman, a dedicated and inspiring teacher who taught at Bulkeley HIgh School for most of her career. She had a broad knowledge of her field of English and English Literature and a love of learning that she sought to instill in her students. She attended Pembroke College in Brown University at a time when it was relatively uncommon for young women to attend college and wished to provide the same opportunity to other young women to attend college. These awards are for females who have been residents of Hartford, and plan to attend UConn, CCSU, Trinity, University of Saint Joseph, University of Hartford or Brown University in Providence, RI.
