- Graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students from the 29-town Greater Hartford region
- Attending or planning to attend a 4-year college or university
- Of Black/African American or Latino/Latina descent
- Maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school and college
- Has financial need

Folabomi and Olusegun Akinbajo believed in the transformative power of education. Throughout their lives, they inspired and supported many individuals to pursue higher education opportunities with the firm belief that it was the gateway to achieving the American dream. The Folabomi and Olusegun Akinbajo Endowed Scholarship Fund continues their passion for helping people use higher education as a lever for social and economic mobility.

This scholarship is also available to students from the Youth Ministry of Christ Apostolic Church - First in the Americas who may or may not be residents of Greater Hartford.
