Scholarship Details
- Graduating high school seniors of Bloomfield High School.
- Will be attending a two or four-year college or university upon graduation.
- Demonstrated academic achievement, by maintaining a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5.
- Service to the community beyond Bloomfield High School's service requirement.
- Must have financial need.
About This Scholarship
Joan Wister, a resident of Bloomfield, established the L. Wynne Wister Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of her late husband, Mr. Wister.
Mr.Wister was a headmaster at South Kent School, a boys' boarding school where he worked from 1941 through 1969, except for time served as an officer in World War II. Mr. Wister earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton University, and a master's degree from Harvard. This fund in his honor will benefit graduates of Bloomfield High School with renewable awards for students attending 4-year colleges or 2-year community colleges.
